Swann Financial help local girl to help others

With sponsorship support from the partners of Swann Financial, Swerford teenager Amelia Warr will soon fulfil a lifelong dream by travelling with other pupils of the lower VI from Tudor Hall School, Banbury, on a mission to help street children in Bolivia.

Amelia will be working directly with the Alalay Foundation – a charity which was founded less than twenty years ago rescuing children from the streets and offering them a caring environment in which to be safe, clothed and fed. The foundation has helped over ten thousand children so far and remains dependent on charitable donations alongside volunteer help to exist.

Partner, Peter Cooling commented “As a successful Banbury business, I , along with my partners, recognise the need to try wherever we can to help others, so when Amelia wrote to us asking for help we were delighted to assist. We hope the trip goes well and look forward to catching up with news on Amelia’s return.”

Amelia commented: “I shall only be working with the children of Alalay for a short period, but I fully intend to make a real difference to the lives of as many of these children as possible. My main aim will be to give the children confidence, to encourage them and to give them hope for their future. Primarily, I will be working to help provide the children with a stable and caring environment – it is no coincidence that the translation of Alalay is ‘I am cold’. I am currently studying Spanish A-level which will enable me to communicate with the children and develop a strong bond with them. I believe that I will learn valuable lessons during this week and I will be left with memories and skills that will be with me forever.”
