‘Albergo Villa Casanova’ is the result of substantial refurbishment and ideally situated for the regions’ numerous festivals…

Following a year of intensive refurbishment to create a unique, boutique-style hotel on the outskirts of Lucca, the owners of the Albergo Villa Casanova (www.albergocasanova.com) are pleased to announce the hotel is open and already accepting guests.

Mr & Mrs Ismail, who reside in Kent, England, purchased the property in 2008 and immediately embarked on a substantial restoration of the main building to create 14 luxurious and spacious suites.

Engaging the services of Doug Reid of James F Stephen Architects, a friend and leading architect from Scotland, the Ismail’s opted to reduce the number of rooms in favour of providing enormous suites to maximise the views and overall client experience. Utilising only the highest skilled builders and craftsmen well versed in the local style, as well as materials such as beautiful Italian marble sourced from a nearby quarry, they have created a unique hotel in the heart of the Tuscan countryside.

The result offers a splendid, tranquil and discreet hotel experience for the discerning traveller visiting northern Tuscany and the surrounding areas of Versilia, Pisa and Florence. Only 15 minutes from Lucca, Albergo Villa Casanova is well situated for visiting this lovely, ancient town which hosts numerous festivals throughout the year, including the world famous Puccini Opera Festival.

Mr Adel Ismail said: “We’ve always loved Italy and have spent many a family holiday in Tuscany. Our previous occupations have taken us all over the world and we have stayed in some wonderful hotels. When we were introduced to Lucca and the Albergo Villa Casanova, we could instantly envisage creating a truly luxurious five star hotel combined with the warmth of an Italian welcome.”

In addition to its own bar and restaurant, Albergo Villa Casanova is proud of its chapel which dates back to 1860 and has been thoughtfully restored with a Michelangelo style fresco. They are able to conduct marriage ceremonies in the chapel as well provide the perfect venue for wedding receptions.

Whilst specialising in luxurious romantic weekends and holidays, Albergo Villa Casanova also offers experiences tailored around local and international holidays. The owners have the intention of offering specialised holidays based on local activities including walking, art, truffle hunting, fashion, vintage and classic Italian car shows and Tuscan cookery.

Ismail added: “We’re pleased that our hard work and attention to detail has rewarded us with a 5-star rating. Our multi-lingual staff will ensure an exclusive, yet relaxed, atmosphere which welcomes guests from every corner of the globe. The emphasis at Albergo Villa Casanova is on friendly service, amazing comfort and delicious Tuscan food.”
