Dr Victor Chua and Adam Scott announce today the establishment of a new partnership, Mansfield Advisors LLP, focusing on strategy consulting to NHS and private hospitals, elderly and social care, and medical technology.

Victor started the Healthcare Practice in 2002 at Candesic Ltd, where Adam was most recently an Engagement Manager, completing over a hundred projects together over an 8 year period.

Commenting on his new role, Dr Chua said, “I am very exciting to establish Mansfield with Adam. I am doing this because I would like to build something for the next quarter century based on my professional values – knowledge-based, factual analysis; investing in client relationships for the long term; and investing in our people.  I believe that if we continue to do good work, sales, brand and reputation will come naturally.

Recent projects done by the two partners include work on NHS hospitals’ cancer strategy, NHS hospitals’ private patient units, the outsourcing of NHS hospital pharmacies to private sector operators, assisting the Department of Health on a major asset disposal, work with a major elderly care operator on their strategic review, work on capsular endoscopy, work in ophthalmology equipment, and work with a London based in-vitro fertilization (IVF) operator.

Commenting on his work for investors, Dr Chua said, “I am particularly proud of the quality of the advice we have given investors.  We have been around long enough to be able to point to some notable successes.” As a case study he cited the success of his client Cinven with the allergy diagnostics company Phadia, which returned a 3.4x money multiple and almost €1bn in cash to investors over five years. “We worked with Cinven before a formal bid, during the formal bid, and during Cinven ownership of Phadia”.
