‘Most Innovative Catalyst’ at TM Forum Catalyst InFocus went to ‘Smart Energy: Connected Home Devices and Electric Vehicles for Smart Energy Benefits’, championed by Orange and the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association, with BearingPoint, esri and Infonova as participants.

The catalyst utilises Infonova R6, with its multi-tenant, concept-to-cash BSS capabilities as the central component to build up a B2B2X business architecture. As a Digital Ecosystem Management Platform, R6 connects individual products, processes and actions within the smart energy ecosystem, controlling access and enabling automatic and straightforward monetization between the different players.

Hans-Werner Wurzel, Managing Director, Infonova says: “We are very proud to be part of this award-winning team together with BearingPoint, Orange and esri. This catalyst confirmed our ability to meet the customer needs of a service provider in such an ecosystem from a telecom’s perspective. It shows what telcos can do to enable these plays between energy providers, consumers, municipalities and other players.”

Andreas Polz, Senior Executive for Industry Standardisation, Infonova says: “Infonova R6 is at the very heart of the smart energy catalyst, creating and connecting individual parts within the ecosystem and providing a solid and secure platform which is so important for an ecosystem that draws on information coming directly from homes. In collaborating with our partners for this catalyst, opportunities on the future development of smart energy in the digital era can be realised.”

The smart energy catalyst aims to enable a more energy efficient, simpler and safer way of living, using geospatial analytics to automate and adjust energy consumption and combine smart energy with other IoT applications in new contexts for ongoing future potential.

Three out of the 11 catalysts demonstrated in Dallas this year won awards, along with the Enabling the Smart City Digital Ecosystem catalyst(utilising Infonova R6), which also received an honorable mention.

Held at the beginning of November in Dallas, Texas, this is TM Forum’s first-ever Catalyst InFocus event. The catalyst program is designed to bring dynamic teams together to accelerate progress on emerging technologies and business models, resulting in live demonstrations at TM Forum events like InFocus and TM Forum Live! and providing the foundation for establishing best practices and reshaping the future.
